I Am Back!!

Hey there, friends! The break that I have taken was to allow me and my husband the opportunity to prepare to become foster parents, and two days before Thanksgiving we were placed with 3 adorable siblings! We have been adjusting to sudden parenthood and are loving these kids more and more!

I have quit my full-time job at Hobby Lobby to be home with the kids, but am also getting ready to get back to taking pictures! I have, however, made some big changes. I truly love taking photos of newborns and babies and am, therefore, specializing in them specifically. I will do newborns and 1-year sessions, and will offer baby milestone photos as part of 3 available packages. I will also, on occasion, offer seasonal mini sessions for children. Please check out the corresponding pages above for more information on the available sessions and the current pricing. Thank you all so much!

It has taken a lot of thought to come to this decision, but I am taking a temporary break from my photography in order to attend to some personal business.  I am SO sad to do this, as I LOVE taking pictures for all of you and HATE the idea of missing a session you'd like me to do for you! However, I do feel that this is the best decision for the time being. I will be back by the second or third week of January, or possibly earlier. I will be finishing up the sessions I have already consulted with people about, and I will complete my time-sensitive sessions as they need to occur (i.e. packages for maternity/newborn and infant milestones). I will not be doing any sessions after August 16th, 2014, until further notice. There is a slight possibility that I will open up for a few sessions again in October, depending on how far I get during the break. I will keep you posted.
Don't worry, though. I WILL be back! I just need to focus my time on some other family issues right now, rather than spending time scheduling sessions, taking photos, and editing photos.  It's all good things though, so you don't need to worry about me or feel sad for me. :)

If you have any question about whether or not I will be able to do a session for you, please don't hesitate to email or text me! Contact info is found on the corresponding page tab above. :)

Exciting Changes Are Coming!

JB Photography has some changes coming up! Beginning January 1st, 2014, I will be officially changing my focus to individual portraiture of newborns, children, teens, high school seniors, and maternity. Yes, this means JB Photography is no longer a "family" photographer. I have been phasing out the family photography aspect since August, which has been reflected in my advertising and business descriptions. I have discovered over the years that my passion and true love with photography lies with taking those individual portraits. However, there will be some exceptions:

*Exception 1: Any former clients as of December 31st 2013, no matter what type of session I have done for you, have the right to request family pictures and I will do them for you. :)

*Exception 2: Any maternity clients that would like to add their hubby are openly welcome to do so.  Children will also be allowed, but only for 3 poses.

*Exception 3: Any newborn clients who wish to have pictures of the new mommy and daddy with their baby will be accepted.  Additional children will also be allowed, but only for 3 poses.  **This particular exception would be best done in a Lifestyle session in your own home or in an outdoor session (my backdrops for newborns are not quite large enough to accommodate others)**

The other change to JB Photography is to my sessions and packages pricing and offerings. Please see the corresponding page on this blog, which reflects the new prices and offerings that will begin January 1st, 2014.

Thank you so much everyone! I love getting to take pictures for you!

Current Photos

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to let you know that I am currently adding all of my recent photos to my Facebook page rather than this site because I am "out of room" according to Blogger. I am still trying to figure out the best solution to that.  In the meantime, you can see sneak peeks and albums of completed sessions on my Facebook page.  You can access my page by clicking here, or by clicking the link on the right-hand side of the blog.

Please be sure to check back here at this site as needed for all other information about your session, my current availability, etc.

Thank you!

Newborn Photography in Springville, UT

This was the last photo shoot I did while visiting family in Utah.  My new niece, baby M, is so precious!  I loved taking these shots using my new backdrop stand and backdrops. What a fun shoot!

Family Photography in Provo, UT

This photo shoot of another one of my brothers was done at Rock Canyon Park in Provo.  He and his wife actually had their engagement pictures taken here and it was fun for them to take their kids there and have their family photos taken!  I had fun doing this, despite the heat. Enjoy!

1-Year Photos in Springville, UT

This is my adorable 1-year-old nephew Kendrick. Last year, I took his newborn pictures, which you can find by clicking here.  So while I was in Utah last month, I told my brother that he had to let me take Kendrick's 1-year photos.  Isn't he just adorable?!

Family Photography in Springville, UT

I was able to go to Utah recently for a family reunion.  While I was there, I scheduled several photo shoots for my family members.  This is the first shoot I did of my brother and his family.  We went to Jolly's Ranch in Hobble Creek Canyon and got some great shots, despite the thousands of blister beetles we encountered. And in order to get good shots of young kids, sometimes you have to be silly, and sometimes you have to feed them Oreo cookies, especially if you're shooting pictures during lunch time! :)
